Preconstruction Services

The Porter Company’s commitment to the highest quality of production starts long before construction even begins. We bring years of experience in preconstruction services, including design review, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, and major equipment purchasing. During the design development stage, we work closely with the project team- the mechanical engineer, general contractor, architect, and others- in order to help plan the most efficient and cost-effective approach to the mechanical portion of the job.

VDC Services

The Porter Company understands the importance of coordination among the different trades on a project. Without proper coordination, project schedules, and construction, projects are adversely affected. We have the tools and personnel to assist with the mechanical design and ensure proper coordination.

Our CAD (Computer Aided Design) Department utilizes 2D and 3D modeling software to produce coordination drawings. The same software can be used to generate detailed spool drawings for fabrication purposes. The VDC process allows us to prefabricate a large portion of our work. Less time on the jobsite equals less risk.

In conjunction with our 3D capabilities, we have become very educated and proficient in the process. We have been able to use our skills and knowledge as an asset during the process on numerous projects. We have been exposed to fully integrated processes and less collaborative scaled down versions. Whatever the case may be, we can adapt on any level to meet the client’s expectations.
